Our Staff
The Friends' Office is found in a small room within the Woodside Historical Museum at 2961 Woodside Road. Our devoted (and infinitely patient) part-time staff share the office and provide support to the mainly-volunteer organization.
Joe Geist is our Director of Finance and Administration. He is a seasoned finance manager with 25 years of experience as a commercial banker in the Bay Area and over ten years of experience assisting nonprofit organizations on the peninsula. Before joining the Friends in January 2005, Joe was Director of Finance for the Elizabeth F. Gamble Garden in Palo Alto. Prior to that, he was the Executive Director of the Farrington Historical Foundation in San Jose.
Daran Reinholm is our Program Coordinator running the Docent Program and our community participation activities. Learn more about Daran.
Sterling Sakai is is our Field Supervisor. Sterling is a retired administrator from California State University, Hayward, with over 27 years of experience as a classroom instructor, student organization advisor and campus/community liaison. For many years Sterling has been a long time volunteer and supporter of our parks. As our field supervisor, he oversees our scheduled community trail day activities in the parks, and acts as the liaison with park rangers for the scheduling and supervision for volunteers for our planned workdays.
