AIDS Memorial Grove
Located in the quiet solitude of Huddart Park, the AIDS Grove features a natural grove of mature redwoods providing a place for reflection and healing. The contemplative space designed by nature is dedicated to the memory of those who have courageously fought their battle with AIDS, and in honor of all those whose lives have been affected by AIDS. Initiated by a non-profit foundation, the AIDS Grove came about through the cooperative efforts of the San Mateo County AIDS Program, the San Mateo County Parks & Recreation Division, and Community Impact (now Hands On Bay Area). The design for the Grove was generously donated by William H. Halleck, ASLA.
Friends' volunteers ensure that the area is kept in good shape.
