Community Days

Each spring and fall the park rangers identify trails that need special attention and the Friends coordinate community volunteers to work with the rangers. The timing usually corresponds with the state-wide California Trails Day program. Previous feats have included moving 17 tons of rock along a section of Crystal Springs Trail in Huddart Park or less strenuous tasks such as cleaning culverts or painting bathrooms.

Other groups that participate include the San Mateo Horsemen's Association, the Mounted Patrol, the Volunteer Horse Patrol, the Trail Center, Woodside Trails Committee, Woodside School, Menlo-Atherton High School, and unaffiliated volunteers from the community.

Your financial support enables the Friends to provide supervision and to purchase supplies for the volunteers.

Call our office for details and to learn about upcoming opportunities.
