Folger Stable Renovation

Project Overview

For many years, the Stable was slowly deteriorating, with no public funds available to preserve the main building and surrounding Carriage House, Blacksmith Barn, Dairy House, and stone walls. In 2002, the friends formed the Folger Estate Stable Committee, and in conjunction with the Department of Parks, County of San Mateo, began the process of renovating the stable to its original condition.

The program is an ongoing effort, but 2010 marks the completion of the beautiful Stable and its re-introduction to park visitors and community.

The renovation is being guided by a Construction Steering Committee, chaired by Rob Flint (with contractor Bill Stronck, Architect Adolph Rosekrans, Parks and Recreation Director Dave Holland, Jill Daly, Joe Geist, Susan Lang, Suzanne Muller, and Bill Wraith).

The Friends would like to thank the generous donor community for their support of this important renovation effort.
